A focused 2-hour course for accountants and controllers: break a difference into its parts, use AI to propose causes from your actual records, test them, and leave a trail an auditor can follow.
What you will be able to do
- Break the difference into its parts: Compare two exported source records line by line, isolate the unmatched and mismatched rows, and show that the component items add back to the total difference, with period, currency and units recorded next to each one.
- Sort each component into a working category: Give every item a provisional category: timing, duplicate, rejected or unloaded record, currency or unit mismatch, or classification difference.
- Get AI to propose causes from your real rows: Prepare your records with customer identifiers, credentials and nonpublic reporting data removed, then ask for candidate causes that cite specific rows and say what evidence would confirm or rule them out.
- Test every candidate cause: Trace each proposed cause back to the original source rows and mark it supported, contradicted or unverified, noting exactly what you checked.
- Classify with evidence, not hope: Decide whether each component is resolved with a traceable explanation or is an open item, and state the evidence behind that call.
- Write open items a reviewer can follow: Record amount, age, what was checked, what remains unknown and who acts next, instead of posting a plug to other or a correcting entry nobody can explain later.
