A figure changes the day before the board meeting. Learn to trace every place it is used, update the spreadsheet, commentary and slides together, and keep a record of what changed.

What you will be able to do

  • See every place a figure lives: Map each use of a figure across your pack: linked cells, hard-coded values, derived figures, commentary sentences, charts and slide text. Spot the ones that will not update when you fix the source cell.
  • Use AI to find dependents, then check its list: Prompt an AI tool to list the cells, sentences and slide objects that depend on a figure, then check that list against the files to catch missed items and items that do not exist.
  • Update everything that depends on the figure: Correct the source figure and every dependent table, sentence and chart, keeping the reporting period, currency, units and calculation method visible in each one.
  • Confirm the pack agrees before release: Check that the spreadsheet, commentary and slides all show the same corrected value, search for the old value in all its forms, and decide whether the pack is ready to go.
  • Explain the change in the meeting: Write a record of what changed, why it changed and who checked it, plus a short spoken explanation you can give the board.
